Politics

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom State chapter, on Friday, mocked Sen. Godswill Akpabio over his withdrawal from Essien Udim Local Government Senatorial rerun election, pronouncing that he took such decision out of worry of feasible defeat.

Akpabio had on Wednesday written to the National Chairman of his party, the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, expressing his resolve to withdraw from the rerun election, noting that he wouldn’t abandon a essential countrywide task positioned on him via President Muhammadu Buhari in pursuit of a rerun election.

He advised the birthday party to write to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in line with Sections 33 and 35 of the Electoral Act, 2010, and put up a substitute to run in his place.
